LONDON--Shares in Atlantis Resources PLC (ARL.LN) rose Monday after the renewable power company said it has signed a construction contract with U.S. defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT), for a 1.5 megawatt AR1500 turbine to be used at its tidal stream energy project in Scotland, MeyGen.

The group said it is a "multi-million pound" deal, without disclosing further financial details.

The 18-meter rotor diameter turbine, scheduled for delivery in 2016, will be one of the largest capacity single rotor turbines ever built, the company said.

At 0743 GMT, Atlantis Resources shares rose 2.9% to 27 pence.
